I have been a nurse practitioner working in addiction medicine for 8 years. I am Adult and Geriatric certified and can treat both your addiction but also any depression and anxiety that may co-occur or surround it. I offer services both in person and online through telehealth, and can often provide same-day appointments. I take all types of insurance, including MassHealth/ Medicaid, and speak both Spanish and Portuguese as well.

Open dialogue is very important between myself and my patients. I want you to feel that you can bring any problem to me and, if I am not able to address it, I will help assist you in finding someone who can. It is important that there be honesty within the relationship so that I may best assist you, this includes being vocal about relapses so that we may work together to get past it. I want there to be a safe space where the patient can communicate all their needs without scrutiny and judgment.

Often, counseling will be recommended, as I am not a counselor. Although not a requirement to receive services, medication prescription is only a piece of the puzzle. Some medications may need to be very long term whereas other medications are temporary while working through a rough patch. This is where counseling is helpful to bridge the gap and work on coping skills, as relying solely on a pill will not truly address the problem. The ultimate goal is to maximize the patient experience through targeting various facets of treatment.
